Raul Lopez's Spring/Summer 2025 collection for his brand Luar was a captivating ode to the evolution of self-expression in the vibrant city of New York. With sculptural and over-the-top couture-inspired pieces, coupled with playful kitten-heeled boots, the brand effortlessly blended high fashion and a sense of fun, showcasing its ability to elevate style and confidence simultaneously.

Captivating Runway Presence

The Luar runway was graced by the presence of renowned models, including Alex Cosani and Calum Harper, who commanded the stage with their confident strides. The audience was further electrified by the attendance of superstar guests, such as Bad Gyal, Ice Spice, and the iconic Madonna, adding to the event's star-studded allure.

Sculpting Hair Masterpieces

Celebrity stylist Evanie Frausto from Tresemmé was tasked with bringing the "dark fairy" aesthetic envisioned by Luar to life through the models' hairstyles. Utilizing big, structural extensions that could be glued onto the hair, Frausto created a striking look that evoked a 1920s-inspired swoop. The hair was first pulled into a high ponytail, pinned back using Freeze Hold Hairspray and Mega Control Gel, and then split into two sections that were wrapped around the head. Some models even had their formed hair extensions coated in resin and pinned to their heads, further enhancing the sculptural and glassy design.

Captivating Makeup Artistry

Luar's partnership with MAC Cosmetics artist Yadim Carranza resulted in a makeup look that seamlessly complemented the brand's vision. Carranza prepped the models' skin with MAC's Hyper Real Serumizer and MAC Fix+, followed by the application of Face + Body Foundation. Concealer was used to cover blemishes, and contouring was achieved with the Sculpt + Shade palette. Highlighting was done using the Pure White Paintstick, and special appliques made from fabric from the collection were placed on the brows and eyes.Some models also had the Pure White Paintstick applied to their eyelids, along with a brushback liner for a winged effect. The Fascinating Eye Kohl was used on the lower waterline and lash line, and in some cases, the brows were blocked with glue and concealed. Finally, a concealer lip was contrasted against a glossy black lip, depending on the individual look.
